Plant-based alternatives as part of the sustainability strategy
The Kaufland retail chain has expanded the vegan range of its own brand K-take it veggie. According to the company, there are now around 20 percent more products under this brand.
From now on, customers will be able to choose from over 100 items from the K-take it veggie brand.
As the food retailer, which is part of the Schwarz Group, writes in its press release, vegan nutrition is playing an important role for more and more people. According to Kaufland, more than 1.5 million people in Germany are already vegan. The trend is rising.
The company also emphasizes that offering customers comprehensive plant-based alternatives is an important part of its sustainability strategy.
Oliver Schmitz, Managing Director of International Purchasing at Kaufland, explains: "Our aim is to provide every customer with the right offer for their diet. People who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet are an important and growing customer group for us." For this reason, Kaufland introduced the K-take it veggie brand seven years ago.
