New CEO for internationally positioned technology group

The current CEO of Carl Zeiss AG, Karl Lamprecht, will step down from his position on April 1, 2025. He has decided not to extend his contract, the technology group writes in its press release.

Lamprecht's successor will be Andreas Pecher. He has worked at Zeiss since 2013. He started there as Head of Strategic Business Development for the Semiconductor division. Pechner is currently a member of the Executive Board and responsible for Zeiss' Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology (SMT) division.

"With the appointment of Andreas Pecher, we have once again succeeded in filling the position of CEO from within our own ranks. We look forward to continuing the successful development of the Group with him," says Michael Bolle, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Carl Zeiss AG. In addition to his extensive experience in the high-tech sector and his extraordinarily successful work at Zeiss, Pechner brings with him an outstanding understanding of technology and a wide range of management skills from various management roles.

Karl Lamprecht became CEO of Carl Zeiss AG in April 2020. According to the company, he announced his intention not to extend his contract, which expires in spring 2025, to the Supervisory Board at an early stage. During Lamprecht's term of office, the Zeiss Group was able to increase its revenue from EUR 6.3 billion to more than EUR 10 billion, according to the press release. EBIT increased from 922 million euros to around 1.7 billion euros.
