Site expansion for the production of air-to-water heat pump technology

Stiebel Eltron is planning to expand its Holzminden site for the production of air-to-water heat pump technology. The family-owned company intends to invest up to 72 million euros for this purpose.

This investment will be subsidized with a grant of up to 10.8 million euros, writes Stiebel Eltron in its press release. According to the company, the funding comes from the joint federal-state task for improving regional economic structures (GRW). According to its press release, Stiebel Eltron recently received notification of the funding.

Industrial transformation

"We are proud to be part of the industrial transformation and would like to thank the state and federal government for their financial support," says Kai Schiefelbein, CEO of the company.

Schiefelbein continues: "Accounting for around a third of final energy consumption, the building sector is of paramount importance when it comes to climate protection. The heat pump is the key technology for reducing CO2 emissions in the building sector, and it will prevail worldwide." It is therefore right to expand production capacities.

Heat transition, heat pump offensive

Stefan Wenzel, the Parliamentary State Secretary responsible for energy and climate protection policy at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, explains: "Stiebel Eltron's investment project at the Holzminden site to further expand production capacity underlines the importance of the heat pump as a key technology for the heat transition and is representative of the efforts of all those involved in the heat pump offensive." It contributes equally to climate protection and to strengthening regional competitiveness.
