Our client, a trading company with high inventory levels and warehouse processes in need of optimization, commissioned us to carry out comprehensive process and cost optimization in the warehouse area. The initial situation was characterized by a lack of KPIs, a very low inventory turnover rate and high capital commitments due to slow movers. In addition, long picking routes led to inefficiencies due to inefficient use of storage locations.
The aim was to significantly reduce annual warehouse costs, establish efficient warehouse management and implement key performance indicators for better control. Among other things, our measures enabled us to reduce personnel costs in the warehouse by 10%.
