Gebr\u00fcder Weiss supports with means of transport<\/h2>\n

The internationally active logistics company Weiss Brothers<\/a> provides Means of transport<\/strong> and equipment for an expedition by an international research team through Greenland. According to the information provided, this is \u201eThe Greenland Project\u201c, in which two scientists, a doctor and a photographer will walk through Greenland for a month in order to Climate change<\/em> to explore. Last Monday, 29 April 2024, marked the start of the excursion. <\/p>\n

Wolfram Senger-Weiss, CEO of Gebr\u00fcder Weiss, explains: \u201eThe expedition is intended to provide insights into climate change that will help us make smart decisions for our future.\u201c<\/p>\n

Low-emission research<\/h3>\n

Greenland is one of the largest ice regions in the world and reacts sensitively to climate change. The team is travelling along the 70th degree north latitude from the west coast to the east coast. Measurements of the ice thickness will be taken regularly along this route in order to be able to compare the values with each other.<\/p>\n

The four team members are transported on skis. Each of them also pulls a sledge behind them. <\/p>\n

\u201eIt is important to us that our research, which is essentially about the climate and glacier melt, is as low-emission as possible. An expedition on foot into this fragile ecosystem enables much more environmentally friendly measurements than by helicopter and more accurate than by satellite,\u201c explains Niklas Marc Heinecke, photographer and co-founder of \u201eThe Greenland Project\u201c.<\/p>\n

Destination of the excursion<\/h3>\n

According to the information, the results will be further analysed at the University of Sunshine Coast in Australia and sent to researchers around the world. <\/p>\n
