Combination of motorway assistant and personal pilot<\/h2>\n

BMW<\/a> announces the permission to produce a new automated vehicle<\/strong> having received, which is a combination of both BMW systems Motorway assistant<\/em> and Private Pilot<\/em> should be. <\/p>\n

According to the information, BMW is the first car manufacturer worldwide to receive this approval. This marks a new milestone in automated driving. The new model is to be named the \u201eBMW 7 Series\u201c.<\/p>\n

Dr. Mihiar Ayoubi, Senior Vice President Driving Experience BMW Group, emphasises: \u201eBy combining both technologies in the new BMW 7 Series, we are setting a new benchmark in the automotive industry. We are underlining our commitment to customers to offer a safe, comfortable and innovative driving experience.\u201c<\/p>\n

Details on the BMW Motorway Assistant<\/h3>\n

The BMW Autobahn Assistant is available up to a speed of 130 km\/h. According to BMW, this can be used as an additional function of the Steering and Lane Control Assistant on motorways with physically separated carriageways. This offers additional comfort, especially on long journeys. The autonomous assistant allows the driver to take their hands off the steering wheel for a longer period. Nevertheless, the traffic situation must be constantly monitored and the driver must be able to intervene in every situation. <\/p>\n

Through the active lane change assistant, lane changes in the BMW 7 Series can also be automated. In addition, an overtaking manoeuvre can be carried out. Lane changes offered by the system are carried out upon confirmation by the driver looking into the exterior mirror. <\/p>\n

Details on the BMW Personal Pilot<\/h3>\n

BMW further explains that with the BMW Personal Pilot function, the driver can completely hand over all tasks to the vehicle at speeds of up to 60 km\/h. The driver must still be able to retake control at any time. This function allows the driver to perform secondary activities while driving. <\/p>\n

Important information about the sale<\/h3>\n
