As the long-established company announced on Friday, Otto turned 75 on Saturday 17 August 2024. To mark this anniversary, Otto is organising numerous campaigns over the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<h3>Catalogue mail order company, online shop, platform<\/h3>\n<p>In its press release, Otto, today the largest German online shop and part of an internationally operating group, emphasises that <a href=\"https:\/\/kloepfel-consulting.com\/en\/supply-chain-news\/unternehmen\/otto-group-fuehrungswechsel-8171152\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Otto Group<\/a>, to be. Otto's business today has little to do with its beginnings. In the beginning, according to the company, there was a 14-page catalogue with 28 pairs of shoes. This catalogue was hand-bound and was initially offered by Werner Otto to 200 households.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Otto is not just an online shop, but a platform or marketplace, as the press release states.<\/p>\n<p>Marc Opelt, Chairman of the Executive Board at Otto, explains: \u201eI know of no other German retail company that has achieved such an impressive transformation. OTTO has constantly evolved and reinvented itself: from catalogue mail order company to online shop, from online shop to platform.\u201c Opelt continued: \u201eAs Germany's largest online shop, we are playing a key role in shaping online retail in Germany - and are consistently focussing on new technologies such as artificial intelligence in order to remain fit for the future.\u201c <\/p>\n<h3>Birthday campaigns<\/h3>\n<p>According to its press release, Otto will be organising numerous special offers in its shop and various birthday promotions for its anniversary. For example, there will be a sneaker in cooperation with Adidas. <\/p>\n<p>Otto is also supporting an exhibition at Hamburg's Museum der Arbeit. It is entitled \u201eYour parcel is here\u201c and deals with the mail order phenomenon. According to Otto, the mail-order business is presented as a complex network of customers, deliverers and customers, <strong>Logistics<\/strong> and companies.
