In its press release, the Group emphasises that this project is in line with the aforementioned <strong>global strategy<\/strong> stand.<\/p>\n<p>According to the company, a suitable buyer is being sought immediately. The relevant contracts should be finalised before the end of this year. Refinery operations will continue as usual during the sales process.<\/p>\n<p>Patrick Wendeler, CEO of BP Europa SE, explained: \u201eIn a rapidly developing energy market, we want and need to focus. After a thorough review, we have come to the conclusion that Ruhr Oel GmbH can realise its full potential under a new owner.\u201c <\/p>\n<h3>About Ruhr Oel GmbH - BP Gelsenkirchen (ROG)<\/h3>\n<p>Ruhr Oel GmbH - BP Gelsenkirchen owns the two plants in Horst and Scholven in Gelsenkirchen. The company manages these as an integrated refinery and petrochemical site. ROG also operates a tank farm in Bottrop.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to its great significance for the domestic fuel and energy supply, the Gelsenkirchen site also plays an important role in the chemical region of North Rhine-Westphalia. According to the company, the refinery currently has a processing capacity of around twelve million tonnes of crude oil per year.<\/p>\n<p>ROG also owns 100 per cent of DHC Solvent Chemie GmbH in M\u00fclheim\/Ruhr.
