Mahle<\/a> has received a series order for a new cooling module in the megawatt charging range.<\/p>\nAs Mahle explains, the cooling module is installed in fast charging stations for electric commercial vehicles. The module can also be used in fast-charging systems for cars and light commercial vehicles, in maritime applications or for rail vehicles.<\/p>\n
Mahle does not mention the name of the customer in its press release. According to the statement, it is a European cable manufacturer and supplier of megawatt charging systems (MCS). Mahle emphasises that the customer particularly rated the performance and cost efficiency of the cooling module as decisive factors for placing the order.<\/p>\n
The automotive supplier will begin series production of the new cooling module at the end of 2025, and the module will be manufactured at the Mahle plant in Namestovo, Slovakia.<\/p>\n

Megawatt Charging Systems (MCS)<\/h3>\n
According to Mahle, so-called megawatt charging systems (MCS) for electric commercial vehicles are mainly found at service stations and car parks. Fast charging capacities of up to 3.75 megawatts (MW) are possible per column.<\/p>\n
According to the company, the cooling module from Mahle can be adapted to the installation space specified by the customer for various charging stations.<\/p>\n
Norman Nagel, Head of Business Development at Mahle Industrial Thermal Systems, said of the module: \u201eIn our cooling module, we connect up to four heat exchangers in series, which cool down the waste heat from the cable by drawing in air. Fans transport the air to the outside.\u201c<\/p>\n
