The investment was made by the port owner, Port Emmerich \u2013 Infrastruktur- und Immobiliengesellschaft mbH. This marks the initial completion of a multi-year expansion project at the container terminal.<\/p>\n According to Contargo, the facility is said to have been significantly expanded in recent years: around 12,000 square metres of additional terminal area, as well as modernised crane tracks and new handling infrastructure, were created. The aim was comprehensive modernisation and performance enhancement of the site.<\/p>\n The new container crane has replaced an older, technically obsolete facility. As the press release states, the new crane is intended to enable more efficient and, at the same time, more sustainable container handling.<\/p>\n The investments in the crane track and container crane amount to approximately 12 million euros. A total of around 20 million euros has been allocated for the modernisation of the Emmerich port.
