Because new production facilities alone do not guarantee a stable supply, Transco is purposefully expanding its range of services for the defence technology and dual-use sector. The core of the strategy is a new logistics centre in Singen, which is scheduled to commence operations at the end of 2026.<\/p>\n<h4>22,000 pallet spaces and specialised services for the Lake Constance region<\/h4>\n<p>The \u20ac40 million project will in future offer space for over 22,000 pallets. This is not just about bare warehouse space: integrated features include a hazardous materials warehouse (for lithium batteries, for example) as well as additional operational services such as quality checks, packaging and spare parts handling. Managing Director David B\u00fccheler sees this as a critical lever: flexible storage capacities and reliable processes are just as important for defence capability as the actual production lines.<\/p>\n<h4>Rail, road and customs clearance from a single source<\/h4>\n<p>A tactical location advantage is the proximity to the Swiss border. Via the direct motorway connection and the neighbouring Hupac terminal, traffic can be easily shifted between road and rail. In addition to pure transport, Transco also handles customs clearance in-house at the relevant border crossings. This reduces waiting times and creates scope for rapidly switching to alternative routes in the event of delays.<\/p>\n<h4>What differentiates defence logistics from standard transport<\/h4>\n<p>Traditional general cargo handling falls short in this segment. As senior consultant Thomas Schleife emphasises, sensitive goods and international supply chains demand deep process know-how and close coordination with customers.
