Selon BMW, il peut \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 comme fonction suppl\u00e9mentaire de l'assistant de direction et de maintien de voie sur les autoroutes avec des voies de circulation s\u00e9par\u00e9es. Il offre ainsi un confort suppl\u00e9mentaire, notamment sur les longs trajets. L'assistant autonome permet au conducteur d'\u00f4ter ses mains du volant pendant une p\u00e9riode plus longue.
