The position of Head of Strategy at the Otto Group will be filled on October 1, 2024. Olaf Schabirosky will then take over as Head of Strategy & Transformation at the Hamburg-based retail group.

The position was vacant following the death of Christoph Schulte, who held the position of Head of Strategy until the summer.

Many years of experience with the Otto Group

According to the company, Olaf Schabirosky has been working for the Otto Group for many years. He has already held various positions there.

Schabirosky has played a key role in shaping logistics at Hermes Germany since 2014, the Otto Group reports in its press release. Schabirosky was Managing Director Finance, & Services Chief Digital Officer and rose through the ranks. In 2018, he became CEO of Hermes Germany.

Petra Scharner-Wolff, CEO of the Otto Group from March 2025, says: "In Olaf Schabirosky, we have gained a multifaceted retail and logistics expert with in-depth knowledge of the Group."

Dennis Kollmann will succeed Olaf Schabirosky at Hermes Germany. He will take over as CEO of Hermes Germany on October 1 of this year. Kollmann is currently still working as CSO at Hermes Germany. Kollmann can look back on a long career with the German Hermes Group, writes the Otto Group.

"I am delighted that we have appointed Dennis Kollmann, a strategically-minded and successful manager from our own ranks, as Chairman of the Management Board. With his expertise, he will play an important role in the further growth of Hermes in a challenging environment," explains Kay Schiebur, Otto Group Executive Board Member for Services.
