Robots for Volkswagen in Spain

Volkswagen is buying more than 700 robots from Kuka. The two companies have concluded a framework agreement for this, as the Augsburg-based technology group recently announced. According to the agreement, the machines are to be delivered to Volkswagen this year and in the next two years.

Use in body shell construction

The robots are destined for Volkswagen Navarra in Pamplona in northern Spain. There they will be used in body-in-white production. In its press release, Kuka writes that Volkswagen is thus investing further in European automobile production.

Long-standing partnership

At the same time, the robot manufacturer emphasizes that a partnership has existed between it and Volkswagen in Pamplona for almost thirty years. The technology company mentions that it has been able to impress with trusting cooperation, very good service and a low total cost of ownership for its robot models.

According to Peter Mohnen, CEO of Kuka AG, the company has been a strong global partner to the automotive industry for decades. "We are delighted to continue our trusting cooperation with Volkswagen," said Mohnen regarding the new agreement.
