Sponsorship of the Sustain Award of the Frankfurt Foundation for Research and Education

Procter & Gamble is offering support to the Frankfurt Foundation for Research and Education in its efforts to promote greater sustainability.
The consumer goods company says it is sponsoring the new Sustain Award of the Frankfurt University of Applied Science (UAS) Foundation.

The prize was awarded for the first time in the last week of April. It was endowed with 4,000 euros.

Sustainability in research and teaching

According to Procter & Gamble, Frankfurt UAS strives to anchor sustainability in research teaching. The consumer goods company would like to help in this regard with the Sustain Award, according to the explanatory notes.

According to Procter & Gamble, both scientific excellence and socially, economically and ecologically sustainable significance are important in the projects submitted. The aim is to encourage researchers and lecturers at the university to emphasize the social value of their own research work and to engage in a public debate about it.

Research project on mobility

This year, the Sustain Award was presented to a research project called ASIMOW.

The project, which was awarded the sustainability prize, involves testing a simulation environment for mobility behavior in cities. The heterogeneity of people is taken into account. According to the Frankfurt UAS website, the acronym ASIMOW stands for "Agent-based simulation models for mobility patterns in the Rhine-Main region to evaluate the welfare effects of traffic measures".

The Research Lab for Urban Transport (ReLUT) at Frankfurt UAS is responsible for the research project.

Gabriele Hässig, Managing Director Communication and Sustainability P&G and jury member, says of the Sustain Award sponsorship: "We recognize outstanding achievements in practical and diverse aspects of sustainability in research and teaching at Frankfurt UAS. We can only master the great challenges of our time in strong partnerships and with multidisciplinary approaches."
