Clip boxes: reusable packaging solution reduces CO2 emissions

The operator of the Port of Duisburg, the Duisport Group, would like to expand its range of industrial goods packaging services. To this end, Duisport packaging solutions Süd GmbH & Co. KG (dps), will gradually take over the British Crocodile Packaging Ltd (Crocodile), including the employees.

According to the information provided, an environmentally friendly solution for industrial goods packaging was developed by Crocodile around 20 years ago. This is also used by dps.

The packaging solution is a simply constructed clip box that can be assembled and disassembled quickly and easily using spring steel clips. It also avoids a lot of noise and reduces the risk of injury. The ability to dismantle the crates for transportation and reuse them significantly reduces CO2 emissions.

Opening up new markets in Europe

The Duisport Group divides the industrial logistics division into two areas. Packaging and plant logistics is referred to as "industrial solutions" and the production of reusable packaging systems as "packaging solutions".

Christian Staudner, Head of Industrial Logistics at the Duisport Group, emphasizes: "The gradual takeover of our partner Crocodile, with whom we have been working together in a spirit of trust for many years, is an important building block for the further development of the packaging solutions division. The entry into the British market opens up numerous opportunities to expand our existing customer business in North Rhine-Westphalia and Germany."

Crocodile can also offer its customers new benefits through the partnership and collaboration in Europe. Together, both companies have the opportunity to improve packaging throughout Europe with the packaging solution in a sustainable way.
