Connecting Monterrey and the European market

Lufthansa Cargo AG announces the expansion of its route network and will offer its customers the option of transporting goods from Frankfurt to Monterrey in Mexico from June 3, 2024. Every Monday, a plane will take off from the home hub in Frankfurt, make a stop in Mexico City, then fly on to Monterrey International Airport and then back to Frankfurt. This new service is particularly important for automotive suppliers, electronics providers and customers transporting medical products.

With this addition, Lufthansa Cagro will serve North America with up to 33 weekly freighter frequencies and South America with up to 4 frequencies per week in addition to its belly capacities.

Ashwin Bhat, Chief Executive Officer of Lufthansa Cargo, said: "We are delighted to add Monterrey to our freighter network for our customers. Being the first European cargo airline to connect the business and industrial city of Monterrey to the European market further underlines our strategic growth into new markets and our goal to enable global trade."

Expansion of the route network from the summer timetable

The company has also reportedly added a stop in Dubai on the route from Frankfurt to Shanghai. Further expansions of the Belly network to North America are also planned for this summer.

Brussel Airlines will be launching new connections to Nairobi and Kigali from the summer, which is also important for Lufthansa Cargo due to the close cooperation between the companies.

Another point is the expansion of the Belly network with additional Lufthansa Airlines destinations from Munich.
The short and medium-haul network will also be expanded with the summer flight schedule.

According to the information provided, the Lufthansa Group offers its customers up to 7,000 flights a week worldwide.
