Tchibo increases prices as of February 17, 2025
The coffee roaster Tchibo recently announced that it would be raising its coffee prices.
From February 17, the long-established company will be increasing prices by between 50 cents and 1.00 euro per 500 grams of roasted coffee, depending on the variety.
As an example, the coffee supplier cites 8.99 euros as the new price for 500 grams of its Feine Milde variety. This will enable Tchibo to continue purchasing high-quality green coffees and support the coffee farmers with fair prices, explains Ardn Liedtke, company spokesman for Tchibo GmbH.
Reaction to smaller quantities of green coffee
As Tchibo writes in its press release, green coffee has become significantly scarcer in recent months. According to the company, the weather has led to weaker harvests and higher coffee prices.
Arnd Liedtke commented that the prices for green coffee had risen by 72 percent." The company spokesperson also said: "In order to continue to offer our customers the high Tchibo quality they are used to, we have to take action."
