Initial situation:

eyevis Gesellschaft für Projektions- und Großbildtechnik mbH is one of the world's leading manufacturers of large screen systems for control rooms, information, control rooms, simulation, communication and virtual reality.

The medium-sized company with headquarters in Reutlingen was founded in 1995 and today has 14 locations worldwide. With over 100 employees, the company is one of the few manufacturers and service providers to supply everything from a single source: In addition to large-screen projection devices, eyevis offers its customers peripheral products for video, data and communication technology, software applications and accessories.

The image systems are used particularly in areas such as control rooms and control rooms, where continuous use makes it essential to be able to rely on a reliable display medium. The company's product portfolio includes large screen systems that are designed for continuous operation or adverse lighting conditions as well as Full HD monitors, graphic controllers for controlling the screens and flexible rear projection display modules in a wide variety of forms.

Procedure:

Following an analysis phase, Kloepfel Consulting was commissioned to realize optimization potential amounting to at least EUR 500,000. The volume processed comprised a procurement volume of approx. 20.0 million euros. During the six-month project phase, the focus was on the product groups of circuit boards, cables, metal processing and logistics, among others.

Together with eyevis, the team of consultants successfully implemented new, strategic suppliers as long-term partners. In order to prepare eyevis for further growth, the purchasing structures were redefined. To this end, Kloepfel Consulting created all organizational and decision-making templates for a future- and growth-oriented purchasing structure, such as changes in the existing material group structure. In addition, the consultant presented the important steps for the successful implementation of changed processes in the organizational structure as part of an all-day value stream analysis workshop.

Significant successes were achieved overall as a result of the project. At the end of the project, savings that exceeded the target were realized. Thanks to the transfer of purchasing know-how, improved data transparency and insights into the reorganization of purchasing, eyevis is sustainably positioned to identify and consistently implement purchasing potential.

The former CEO of eyevis, Mr. Michael W. Nagel, had the following to say about the purchasing project:
"Kloepfel Consulting convinced us above all with its pragmatic and measurable solution approach - at the end of the project we can look back on a successful, sustainable result. The organization was kept within the bounds of what was necessary. The consistently reliable project team and the eyevis employees have helped us to achieve our ambitious results targets."
