New logistics centre of Honold Logistik GmbH
On 23 April 2024, the logistics company Honold Logistik GmbH celebrated the ground-breaking ceremony for a new project called „Green Cube“ in Butzbach in Hesse. This is a System centre, which is to be built on a total area of 20,000 square metres.
Honold Logistik GmbH pursues the motto „Logistics is green“. According to the company, the project is a showcase model for Sustainable building. This is underlined by the name of the centre.
Details of the system centre
The new centre will be equipped with a photovoltaic system, a green roof, a heat pump and an electric charging station. The aim is to obtain certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) for this building.
According to the information provided, the construction project will also strengthen the long-standing relationship between Honold and one of the leading high-tech companies for semiconductor technology in Germany.
The centre will also support the regional economy in the Butzbach area in the future.
Completion and commissioning are planned for spring 2025.
