Automotive suppliers with improved business situation in the first half of 2024
The automotive supplier Webasto recently reported an improved Business situation in the first half of 2024.
According to its press release, the Stockdorf-based company was able to significantly reduce its expenses and substantially increase its earnings. According to Webasto, this was achieved as part of a programme launched at the beginning of the year to strengthen financial resilience.
Holger Engelmann, CEO of Webasto SE, comments: „We are on the right track and have made great operational progress in recent months to sustainably strengthen our financial performance.“
Review of capacities and processes
According to the press release, capacities and processes were systematically reviewed at the beginning of the programme. According to the company, this resulted in some Optimisation potential in the regions, functions and business divisions.
„As part of the expansion of our product portfolio towards electromobility and in anticipation of further strong growth, Webasto had built up structures in recent years that we had to put to the test. This was particularly necessary because the global framework conditions had deteriorated and the economy had clouded over considerably,“ explains Engelmann.
Various measures also in purchasing
In the further course of the programme, Webasto has started various measures in the areas of research & development, purchasing and production.
According to the press release, the focus will be on reducing direct and indirect costs. According to Webasto, there is also a special focus on improving the performance and efficiency of the plants worldwide and on increasing the profitability of customer projects.
The Webasto CEO emphasises: „The overriding aim of the coordinated measures is to be able to continue investing in innovative vehicle technologies even under difficult conditions. This is the only way we will be able to maintain our competitive position in the field of roof systems and electromobility.“
