Strategic realignment of purchasing
Our client, a world-leading mechanical and plant engineering company, wanted to strategically prepare for the expected market recovery. Procurement had previously been decentralised, synergies remained unexploited, and a cross-plant strategic management of suppliers hardly took place. The goal was to realise savings potential without jeopardising delivery capability – and at the same time to further develop procurement structurally.
A two-phase project was established together with Kloepfel. The result: sustainable savings, clearly defined roles in purchasing, and a new internal vision that was consistently anchored through management and stringent project management.
Transformation of an international purchasing organisation
Our client, an internationally oriented industrial company, wanted to strategically realign its procurement. The department was operationally stable, but lacked a clear strategic direction, processes were inconsistent, and international coordination needed improvement.
The objective was to align the purchasing organisation more closely internationally, to orient it strategically, and to develop it further methodically. With a continuous coaching and transformation programme, Kloepfel Switzerland, together with the purchasing team, was able to achieve measurable progress. The first noticeable successes were evident after just a few months.
