Expansion of medical device manufacturing lines
The packaging manufacturer Coveris is investing eight million Euros in the expansion of its Production capacity. Specifically, this involves the modernisation and expansion of production lines for medical devices at the German sites in Rohrdorf and Halle.
The investment is being made, according to the company's press release, in response to the rising demand for high-quality Packaging solutions for medical needs.
Two new parcel facilities in Rohrdorf
According to Coveris, it has operated the plant in Rohrdorf since May 2021. From autumn 2024, there are set to be two new pouch-making plants and a header bag line there.
The new bag lines are said to be technologically comparable to the existing facilities at the site. This ensures quick integration into the machine park, Coveris writes. The three new production lines are scheduled to be commissioned on October 1, 2024.
According to the press release, a new cast film extrusion line is planned for the Halle site. Coveris states that it plans the first commercial production in the new extrusion line for early 2025.
Christian Kolarik, CEO of Coveris, explained: „We are investing in the modernisation of our sites to meet the growing demand from our customers for high-performance medical packaging. A clean and safe environment is enormously important for this sector, but sustainability is just as much of a focus.“
