Despite intensive talks between President Karin Keller-Sutter and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, no breakthrough was achieved in Washington. This was preceded by a meeting with heavyweights from the Swiss economy. As of today, punitive tariffs of 39 % apply to Swiss exports to the USA - with serious consequences for industry, jobs and transatlantic economic relations.
