Outsourcing freight invoice auditing
Our client, an electrical engineering company with a manual and error-prone freight invoice auditing process, tasked us with process and cost optimisation in the area of freight invoice auditing. The initial situation was characterised by the use of 1.5 FTEs for manual auditing, with a high potential for errors due to numerous sub-items on the freight invoices. Furthermore, many unknown items made efficient processing difficult. The savings potential found to date was below 1%.
The aim was to reliably identify incorrect items in complex freight invoices by outsourcing the invoice audit, to relieve staff of manual invoice checks, and to reduce costs through process optimisation.
We were able to achieve cost savings of 3 % of the freight volume processed, while simultaneously reducing the number of FTEs used for auditing from 1.5 to 0.5.
Warehouse optimisation
Our client, a trading company with a high inventory level and warehouse processes requiring optimisation, commissioned us with comprehensive process and cost optimisation in the warehouse sector. The initial situation was characterised by a lack of KPIs, very low inventory turnover, and high capital commitments due to slow movers. Furthermore, long picking routes due to suboptimally utilised storage areas led to inefficiencies.
The aim was to significantly reduce annual warehousing costs, establish efficient warehouse management and implement key performance indicators for better control. Among other things, our measures enabled us to achieve a 10 % reduction in personnel costs in the warehouse.
